Austrian Coin Jewelry with 1956 Mozart Silver 25 Schilling in Handmade Pendant Setting

125.00

This 1956 Austrian 25 Schilling rests in a setting made of recycled sterling silver wire. I make each setting by hand separately from the coin. The coin does not have a hole drilled in it or any metal soldered to it's edge.

Issued to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, this coin was designed by Kurt Bodlak (obverse) and Edwin Grienauer (reverse). The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Mozart surrounded by the lettering, WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART GRIENAUER • 1756 – 1956 •. The portrait is modeled after the Mozart statue in Burggarten (Imperial Palace Gardens) in Vienna. The reverse has the coin value, surrounded by the ten shields of the regions of Austria, and the lettering REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH. The metal content of the coin is 80% silver.
