Coin Jewelry with Vintage Buffalo Nickel in Handmade Pendant Setting

54.00

This Buffalo Nickel rests in a hand crafted setting made of recycled sterling silver wire . I make each setting by hand separately from the coin. The coin does not have a hole drilled in it or any metal soldered to it's edge. The setting is sturdy so the coin can also be worn as a charm on a bracelet.

The Indian Head Nickel was designed by James Earl Fraser. The obverse contains a composite profile of Iron Tail, an Oglala Sioux chief, Two Moons, a Cheyenne chief, and Big Tree, a Kiowa chief. The reverse depicts a buffalo. The buffalo used as a model for this coin was "Black Diamond" (1893-1915), a famous buffalo at the Central Park zoo in New York City. This design was struck from 1913 to 1938. The metal content of the coin is copper and nickel.

Excluding the year on the coin, your coin pendant will look like the pendant pictured. Each coin pendant is made by hand (not machine) and no two pieces are exactly alike. If you are looking for a specific year, let me know, I may have it in my collection.
