This 1956 One Shilling rests in a hand crafted setting made of recycled sterling silver wire . I make each setting by hand separately from the coin. The coin does not have a hole drilled in it or any metal soldered to it's edge.

The coin was designed by Mary Gillick (obverse) and William Gardner (reverse). The coin was minted from 1954-1970. The obverse of the coin has a portrait of Elizabeth II surrounded by the lettering, ELIZABETH·II·DEI·GRATIA·REGINA (Elizabeth the Second by the Grace of God Queen). The reverse features the value, year, and a crowned English shield. The metal content of the coin is copper nickel.
