Handmade Silver Bangle with 1945 Mercury Dime Coin Charm

Handmade Silver Bangle with 1945 Mercury Dime Coin Charm

The bangle is hand fabricated from wire that is twisted, formed into a circle, and soldered. This 1945 Mercury Dime rests in a hand crafted setting made of recycled sterling silver wire . I make each setting by hand separately from the coin. The coin does not have a hole drilled in it or any metal soldered to it's edge. The handmade setting is sturdy and allows the coin to be worn as a charm on a bracelet.

This coin was designed by Adolph A. Weinman, an American sculptor. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap and year. The reverse has a battle axe with olive branches. The metal content of the coin is 90% silver. The coin was minted from 1916 until 1947. This designed spanned an important time in American history: World War 1, Prohibition, the Great Depression, and World War II.

Approximate Size: Bangle: 2.5 inches, Coin Charm: Length: 1 inch (including bail), Width: .75 inch
