This 1944 British Colonial India Quarter Rupee coin rests in a hand crafted setting made of recycled sterling silver wire . I make each setting by hand separately from the coin. The coin does not have a hole drilled in it or any metal soldered to it's edge.

This coin was minted from 1942-1945. The obverse of the coin was engraved by Percy Metcalfe and features left facing portrait of King George VI facing left, surrounded by GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR. The reverse has the date and value encircled by a wreath made up of symbols of the British Empire. The wreath features the lotus for India, roses for England, thistles for Scotland, and shamrock leaves for Ireland. The coin has the mint mark 'L' for Lahore. The metal content of the coin is .500 silver.
