Vintage English (1966) Two Shillings in Handmade Pendant Setting

Vintage English (1966) Two Shillings in Handmade Pendant Setting

This 1966 English Two Shilling rests in a hand crafted setting made of recycled sterling silver wire . I make each setting by hand separately from the coin. The coin does not have a hole drilled in it or any metal soldered to it's edge.

The coin was designed by Mary Gillick (obverse) and Cecil Thomas (reverse). The coin was minted from 1954- 1970. The obverse of the coin has a portrait of Elizabeth II surrounded by the lettering ELIZABETH·II·DEI·GRATIA·REGINA, Elizabeth II by the grace of God queen. The reverse features a Tudor Rose encircled by a wreath of Scottish thistles, Welsh leeks and Irish Shamrocks with the value and year. The metal content of the coin is copper nickel.
